Tata Altroz Electric Slated For Launch Next Year
It is rumored that after launching the regular version of its proposed hatchback Altroz in the Indian car market during the month of August this year, the domestic car maker Tata Motor will launch its electric version sometime during the month of September 2020. Recently, the production version of EV Altroz was showcased by the Tata Motors at Geneva International Motor Show. It is reported that the EV Altroz is reported to travel with the range of 250 km to 300 km, which is not offered by any other electric vehicle by the homegrown carmaker. Physically, the Altroz EV will carry the same dimensions as offered in its regular version.

According to the reports from the sources of Tata Motors, apart from covering the distance up-to 300 kms, after a single charge, the Altroz EV is capable of charging up to 80 percent in an hour, however, with fast charging system. After launch in the Indian car market, the Altroz EV will compete against Hyundai Kona, that is believed to make its debut in the Indian car market during the festive season this year. The Kona is endorsed to travel about 200 km, after the full charge.

Now, one thing which is surprising about Tata Altroz EV is that why the company is delaying the launch for almost a year, despite sharing the same dimensions as offered in the regular version? Well, an answer to this question due to the absence of the required infrastructure for developing electric vehicles. At present, Tata Motors is utilizing its production efficiency for producing the vehicles compatible to BS VI emission norms. The regular version of Tata Altroz is ready for launch in the month of August 2019.
