Tata Aria speculated to get 2.2 liter DICOR engine with additional torque
Recently, the Tata Aria LHD has been spotted on the outskirts of Pune undergoing road tests. It is expected that this new Aria might be complied with Euro V emission norms and is speculated to carry 2.2 liter diesel in-line that will have additional torque. Earlier, Tata Motors unveiled Tata Aria 2012 at Delhi Auto Expo. This Aria prototype had the tiptronic automatic transmission back and was powered by 2.2 liter DICOR diesel engine that possessed additional power and torque.

Moreover, this Aria concept machine had maximum power of 155 bhp with its maximum torque of 400 Nm that is certainly more than the 140 bhp peak power and 320 Nm max torque of current Tata Aria. Speculations are that the Tata Aria LHD is going to get additional torque power. In order to see what additional torque would this car possesses, we will have to wait till the company brings in the face-lifted Aria powered by 2.2 liter DICOR diesel engine variant.
It would be also interesting to see if the auto-grand, Tata Motors really introduces the Tata Aria Automatic concept on the domestic shores or not. If the company plans so, it is expected that this MPV would carry the 2.2 Liter DICOR engine having power of 155 bhp and torque of 400 Nm. So far, Tata Aria has not been a good seller in the Indian auto-market and the company too has been doing a lot of market stunts to increase its sales. It seems that like the Tata Nano 2012, the face-lifted Tata Aria too would have increased power and torque.
