Tata Commences the Bookings of Hexa SUV
Encouraged from the success received by Tiago hatchback in the Indian car market, domestic car maker Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited Hexa SUV in India in January, 2017. For the same car maker has launched the website and also started accepting bookings with an initial token amount of Rs. 11,000 and soon it will also dispatch some units of the SUV to its dealership stores to commence customer test drives. According to recent reports, deliveries of Hexa SUV will start from the second week of January.
According to the details revealed on the official site, Tata Hexa will be offered in 4x2 and 4x4 drive train system and will be powered by two units of diesel engine i.e., 2.2 liter Varicor 320 and 2.2 liter Varicor 400. The 2.2 liter Varicor 320 engine develops the power of 150 PS with a maximum torque of 320 NM and will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission system while 2.2 liter Varicor 400 engine churns the power of 156 PS with a peak torque of 400 NM will be equipped with a 6 speed manual transmission system or an optional 6 speed automatic transmission system.
In terms of design, Hexa SUV measures 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height, and comes with wheelbase and ground clearance of 2850 mm 200 mm respectively. At front Hexa features honeycomb grille with chrome Humanity Line, muscular bonnet, daytime running LED lights, integrated spoiler and roof rails among others.
Inside the cabin SUV comes with an option of 6-seat or a 7-seat configuration with dedicated AC vents for each row in the top end variant. Apart from this SUV is loaded with premium features such as 5.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, reverse camera and leather-covered captain seats. In terms of safety Tata Hexa is offered with ABS+EBD, 6 airbags as standard features. Some other safety features included are Electronic Stability Program, Hill Descent Control, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control and etc.
Once launched in the country, Tata Hexa will compete against the likes of recently launched Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV 500.
