Tata Confirms To Launch Altroz On January 22, 2020
Domestic car maker Tata Motors unveiled its premium hatchback Altroz during the first week of this month. Now, according to company sources the hatchback will be launched in India on January 22, 2020. The company has already initiated the bookings of the hatchback at the down payment of Rs. 21,000. An interesting fact associated with the Tata Altroz as revealed by the company sources is that it is based on the company’s new Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture (ALFA) that is believed to be further offered in the upcoming cars by the carmaker, representing different segments.

Underhood the Altorz will be offered with 1.2 liter BS6 compliant petrol and 1.5 liter BS6 compliant diesel engines, boosting the power of 86 bhp and 90 bhp respectively, followed by the torque of 113Nm and 200Nm. The transmission duties are reported to be performed by a five-speed manual gear transmission system in both the variants. The company sources also reported that in the later months of 2020, the new 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine will also be launched. This variant will generate the power of 100bhp and the torque of 140Nm. It will be mated with the automatic transmission system.
Tata Altroz is mainly the 45X concept by the Tata Motors that was first showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2018, after which its production version was revealed during the Geneva Motor Show 2019. And now recently the final version was revealed by the company during the first week of December. It will be offered in an overall five trims namely XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O). Speaking about the features, the top-end XZ and XZ (O) will be offered with the features like projector headlamps, navigation with turn by turn voice prompts, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, steering mounted controls, rear power outlet, front and rear armrest, rear defogger and many more. The XZ (O) is reported to receive a black contrast roof as an additional feature. Altroz will be launched with the price tag varying from Rs. 5.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom price) and will go against the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Volkswagen Polo.
