Tata Group Provides 20 Ambulances & 100 Ventilators To BMC Mumbai
It is reported that home-grown business legend the Tata Group has donated 20 Tata Winger ambulances and 100 ventilators to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for saving the life of people suffering from the impacts of Coronavirus pandemic. The announcement regarding this donation was made by Mr. Aaditya Thackeray, State Minister of Tourism and Environment, Government of Maharashtra, through a tweet. Moving ahead he also informed that the Tata Group has also announced the donation of Rs. 10 crores to the BMC for further trials of Plasma therapy in Mumbai. The vehicles to the BMC were handed in the presence of Honorable Uddhav Thackeray and Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Board Member, Tata Sons.

Speaking about the Tata Winger Ambulance, it is developed strictly according to the proposed Utility Vehicle that was showcased by the Tata Motors during the Indian Auto Expo 2020. It is offered in two variants namely 3200 WB and 3488 WB. It is empowered with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder, BS-VI compliant diesel engine and boosts the power of 98 bhp and the torque of 200Nm. It is mated with a five-speed manual transmission system and can be used for patient’s transportation, basic life-support, and advanced life-support or as a shell. It is embellished with some remarkable features like vehicle telematics, front disc brakes, and many more.
It would be important to note that the suburban areas of Mumbai have witnessed more than 5,300 cases of Coronavirus. However, at the same time, the percentage of recovery rate since then within the state has increased to 61 percent. Apart, from offering Ambulances, ventilators, and financial help to BMC, the Tata Group has also established an Immunology and Virus Infection Research Centre.
