Tata Harrier SUV Slated For Launch In January 2019

Domestic car maker Tata Motors had showcased its new SUV christened as H5X concept during the Indian Auto Expo 2018 held earlier this year during the month of February, and now after successful launch of Tiago NRG, generation next Tigor and Kraz edition of Nexon compact SUV, the carmaker has now started making the preparation for launching the H5X concept SUV, as Harrier in the Indian car market sometime during the month of January 2019. Interestingly, with an objective to create the buzz about this upcoming project, the carmaker has started revealing its information in the cyber world.

According to the sources of company the Harrier will be based on company’s Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGA), developed jointly by the engineers of Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. It will be empowered with 2.0 litre KRYOTEC diesel engine, inspired by Cryogenic rocket engine and capable of generating the power of 140 hp, with the transmission duties to be performed by six manual gearbox, along with an option of an automatic gearbox. It will also be offered with an AWD option and all-independent suspension system, outsourced from Land Rover Terrain Response system and Land Rover Discovery Sport, respectively.

The bookings of Harrier will start from October 15, 2018, with the refundable down payment of Rs. 30,000. It is believed to be offered in the price range of Rs.13.5 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom price).
