Tata Manza diesel prices slashed by whopping Rs 50,000
As the Indian automobile industry is going through with one of its toughest phases ever, it has been raining discounts from a number of major car makers to boost their sales figures before the end of current financial year. Joining the same league, the country’s largest vehicle maker Tata Motors has slashed the price of their popular premium mid-size sedan Tata Manza Club Class by a whopping Rs 50,000. The price cut is applicable across all diesel variants of the car.

Moreover, an innovative buy back scheme is offered by the company on Manza model. In this scheme, the company will buy back the Manza model after three years and offer as much as 60 percent of the initial buying cost of the car to the customer.
With this huge discount, the Tata Manza now available with a lucrative price tag and the unique buyback scheme is adding glitters to the gold. Interestingly, the Manza model is now cheaper as compared to the country’s largest selling entry level sedan Maruti Swift Dzire. Powered by a 1.3 Liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine, the Manza sedan churns out a peak power of 90 bhp along with a peak torque of 200 Nm.
It is to be mentioned here that the excise duty hike on utility vehicles in the Union Budget 2013 is going to hit the car makers like Tata and Mahindra hard, as both of these sell a range of Sports Utility Vehicles in the Indian market such as Tata Sumo, Safari and the Aria, and Mahindra Scorpio, Bolero, XUV500 and Xylo. With sales of SUV’s is expected to slowdown in the coming months, Tata Motors seems to have started finding ways to counter this slowdown by slashing the price of their sedans and hatches.
