With hatchback Bolt and sedan Zest on cards to be launched by domestic car maker Tata Motors in coming months. It is reported that car maker has started working on developing another small car for Indian car market which has been codenamed as KITE. Prior to this  the car marker had showcased an array of its upcoming products including Bolt, Zest, concept car Nexon followed by launch of Tata Nano Twist during the last concluded Indian Auto Expo 2014. The decision regarding bringing of new small car KITE in market seems to be inspired from the increasing popularity of small cars in India.

The major  small cars which have made their successful debut in Indian car market recently are Celerio from MSIL, Grand i10 from Hyundai, new Figo from Ford and Go from Datsun.  According to industry experts Tata Motors is an established name in Indian car market but the issue arising in its vehicle is due to quality which plays a major criteria in this segment as in current scenario buyers have wide options in this specific segment. The proposed hatchback KITE would be placed between Nano and Indica and will carry the same design guidelines as offered in Nano. It is also speculated that the KITE will also carry most of its designing concept from the concept car Nexon showcased during the Indian Auto Expo.

KITE will be developed at company’s production plant unit located at Sanand in Gujarat and is expected to make its way to Indian car market by the end of 2015. In between company will launch its new upcoming products which are expected to change the fortunes of company and bring the sales figure back on the track and inclusion of KITE will take the sales to new heights.
