Tata Motors Introduces Digital Robust Solution For Fleet Operators
Going through the concern of fleet operators to track the exact location of their vehicles running on different paths, domestic carmaker Tata Motors has introduced the Fleet Edge, which offers the facility of managing the fleet of vehicles with informed decision making. The Fleet Edge technology offered by the Tata Motors facilitates the operators to not only track the location of the vehicle but also the health of their drivers, driving skills, fuel-loss, fuel-efficiency, and keep on sending the alerts at regular intervals as soon as its notices any fluctuation or change in the data.
In the words of Mr. Girish Wagh, President, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, “Digital technology and connectivity solutions are rapidly transforming both passenger and goods transportation. The rich data that vehicles can now send through the telematics unit is opening up several new possibilities for the entire logistics chain." Moving ahead, he also added that, "With Fleet Edge, we have set a new benchmark by providing customers more information and greater control over their fleet and their operations, remotely."
According to him, the company will keep working on upgrading the features introduced in the Fleet Edge solution to let the fleet owners utilize the more authentic and optimized intelligence system for managing their fleet of vehicles. The worth mentioning feature of this solution is that the history of the vehicle can be accessed on both the portal of Fleet Edge and also through its mobile application. It would be interesting to know that the new fleet of BS-VI compliant trucks manufactured by Tata Motors is equipped with an in-built embedded SIM.
Besides, this the Fleet Edge solution can also be installed on all types of medium and heavy commercial vehicles manufactured by the company, along with the selected number of intermediate and light commercial vehicles, and small commercial vehicles.
