Tata Motors Moves Ahead In The Front Of Electric Mobility

With increasing concern towards the use of electric vehicles across the country domestic car Tata Motors has become the second company to establish a separate division towards the development of electric vehicles within the country. Christened as electric vehicle vertical the new division will endeavor to make full use of available potentials for the development of this new technology. With this the company also announced Mr. Shailesh Chandra as the head of this vertical division. It would be interested to know that prior to this Mr. Chandra had played an interesting role supplying the first fleet of electric Tigor to the EESL for use in government departments back in 2017. According to the sources of Tata Motors, “Chandra will lead the new vertical in addition to his current responsibility and will be redesignated as president – electric mobility business & corporate strategy, with immediate effect and will continue to be a member of the executive committee,”
 
Tata Motors Electric Vehicles
 
Home grown car maker Tata Motors had earlier acquired the contract of supplying 10,000 electric vehicles to the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) the government of India undertaking for encouraging the use of electric vehicles in the government departments. Later on, another domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra also agreed to supply the electric vehicles to EESL at the same price as quoted by the Tata Motors and succeeded in grabbing the some portion of the bid.
 
 Commenting on this company’s CEO and managing director, Guenter Butschek, said “Tata Motors is optimistic about the future of electric vehicles and would like to lead the electric mobility evolution in the country.” 
 
Mahindra Electric Vehicle
 
The electric vehicles supplied by the domestic car Tata Motos will cost to Rs. 11.2 lakh per unit after inclusion of GST. It would be now interesting to see that will it be possible for Mahindra & Mahindra to supply its electric vehicles to the EESL at the same price as suggested by the Tata Motors.
