Tata Motors Questions For Safety Standards In Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The activeness of domestic car maker Tata Motors on the social media platform for expressing its view on any subject without any hesitation is well-known by everyone. Recently, once again the homegrown carmaker has posted a comment raising the question against the standard safety measures offered by its rivals in their vehicle. This time the target has been one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the country, the Wagon R, by the country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
The recent post published by the carmaker has a wooden wagon with one of its wheel coming out followed by a text saying, "OH SH**T! WAGONE," followed by a message- "Safety is 'two' important to be ignored. Be smart before someone overturns your caRt." This post is a clear indication that Tata Motors is pointing towards the Wagon R, which received only 2 stars in the Global New Car Assessment Programme conducted last year. In the same post, Tata Motors also reveals that its hatchback Tiago succeeded in receiving 4-stars in the Global NCAP test held at the beginning of this year. The company even regards Tiago as the safest car to drive in its segment.

The cold war between both the legendries started this month after the latest crash results revealed by the Global NCAP in which the Kia Seltos succeeded in receiving 3 stars rating, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios received 2 stars rating, and the newly launched hatchback S-Presso by the Maruti Suzuki India bagged zero-rating. Soon, after the results the Tata Motors started posting comments on social media criticized the S-Presso and Grand i10Nios for their poor performance. At the same time, it also tried to consider the Tiago as the safest car in the segment than compared to its contenders.
Well, the comments by the Tata Motors sounds impolite, but it is believed that they will definitely encourage the Maruti Suzuki to work on improving the integration of safety measures in its vehicles. At present only the compact SUV Vitara Brezza by the Maruti Suzuki has four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test behind its name.
