Tata Motors Receives An Encouraging Response During Festive Season

According to the sources of the domestic carmaker Tata Motors it has received an overwhelming response from the Indian buyers during the ongoing festive season as compared to the same period last year. The company has recorded an encouraging hike of 103% in the booking and 90% hike in the sales of the passenger vehicles.

It would be interesting to know that the festive season has come up as a boon for car manufactures especially for Tata Motors which has launched a fleet of various new products in the market this year. The company is also promoting the list of its products on its website that have witnessed dynamic growth in recent years.

The relevance of response from the Indian buyers during this festive season becomes more important due to the transition to BS6 technology and technical upgrades which affected the demand of the company’s products in 2019. After which the arrival of a global pandemic the COVID-19 badly affected the hopes of the company to improve in 2020.

Although the passenger vehicle segment in the country is at the verge of going through a dynamic change, the upcoming festival of Diwali in the country is believed to bring a huge smile on the faces of the auto manufacturers. In the words of Mr Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, "Due to this transition from BS 4 to BS 6, there has been a significant escalation in cost. In these trying times, customers are not very confident about the outlook of how the future is going to be including their salaries and jobs." Moving ahead, he also said, that, "On top of that there has been an increase in vehicle prices. It definitely impacts the industry immensely and any support by the government to reduce GST to offset some of the price increase will definitely boost the whole PV industry."

At present, the fleet of vehicles manufactured by the company with BS6 engine configuration consists of recently launched Altroz, Nexon, Harrier, Tiago, and Tigor.
