Tata Motors sales fall by 27.5 percent, Vista D90, Safari Storme did some damage control
It appears that Tata Motors have begun feeling the heat of the economy slowdown as it revealed in the reports that the total sales plunged by 27.59% that also includes the exports related to the passenger vehicles and Tata commercial vehicles, during the previous month, March. Where at one side, company did witness the sale of 72,712 vehicles during the March month of previous year, on the other side, company did witness the sales of 69,160 vehicles during the March month of the current year. If we take a glance on the number of the vehicles being sold, on the individual basis then the commercial vehicles sales in the domestic market did account for 56,813 vehicles, M&HCV sales did account for 14,852 vehicles and the sales of LCV did account for 41,961 vehicles. Meanwhile, the situation could have been more worse if Tata Vista D90, Tata Safari Storme and Tata Indica eV2 were not there.
However, there is also some positive news regarding the company. Among the various vehicles, Tata Pick-Ups including (Tata Xenon XT, Tata 207 and Tata Super Ace) did witness the highest ever sales on monthly basis at the numbers-6,981.Tata SCVs including (Tata Magic range and Tata Ace) did witness the highest ever sales on monthly basis at the numbers- 29,960. During the current year, 7 brand new superior-quality commercial vehicles were launched. The segment including Tata Nano, Tata Indica, Tata Indigo range has a total sales of 8,903 units in March 2013 while Tata Sumo, Tata Safari, Tata Aria and Tata Venture range of car sales were 3,444 units in the same moth.
The company did launch the Telematics & Fleet Management Service that aims to offer sophisticated Telematics solutions. These solutions facilitate remote vehicle tracking services of fleet vehicles, in order to enhance the profitability and the productivity. The company also did introduce the ‘Tata Alert’ program that is meant to offer highway assistance in the form of the availability of the on-site breakdown assistance within 4 hrs, to medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
