Tata Motors To Dominate The Car Manufacturing Technology
Car manufacturing technology has undergone dynamic changes during the last two decades. This has increased the cut-throat competition in the International car market. The car makers now focus on the introduction of new innovative features in their cars, for this, they are getting those features patented by their respective governments. Following the same trend domestic carmaker, Tata Motors had filed for almost 125 patents related to powertrain technology during the fiscal year 2020-2021. According to the company sources, it is the highest number of patents filed by the company ever in its history.
In a statement given by the company, "The patents entail a diverse range of innovations and developments in traditional and new energy powertrain technologies, safety, connected vehicle technologies, body in white (BIW) and trims along with other vehicle systems".
Among these 125 filed patents, 56 patents got approval from the regulatory authorities. In the words of, Rajendra Petkar, President and CTO, Tata Motors, "We have established a legacy of setting new benchmarks with cutting-edge technologies and features in the areas of new energy solutions, safety, product performance, cost of ownership and digitalisation”.
Moving ahead he said, "We remain committed to use our engineering prowess in creating top-class mobility solutions to serve the evolving aspirations of our customers”.
