Tata Motors Working On Mild-Hybrid Version Of Nexon

With the announcement of implementing new emission norms from 2020 by the Ministry of Transportation, Government of India,  most of the car manufacturers in the Indian car market have started making preparations accordingly. Where most of the manufacturers have started remapping their existing engine line-up, some have postponed the launch of their new vehicles for making them compatible to the new emission norms. 
 
Tata Nexon Mild Hybrid Engine
 
Keeping this factor in concern, domestic car maker Tata Motors has also started working on this, and according to the recent reports, the carmaker is going to bring the hybrid version of its first-ever compact SUV Nexon in the Indian car market. According to recent reports, the carmaker has commenced the production of Hybrid Nexon, which would be offered in the petrol variant and will be the first vehicle from the carmaker in its portfolio. Apart from, Nexon Hybrid, the company is already offering electric version Tiago and Tigor.
 
Talking about the Nexon Hybird, it will be empowered with 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine and mated with an automatic transmission system. It is also believed that the new Nexon will generate more power and deliver improved fuel efficiency than compared to its existing version. It is reported that along with Hybrid version the Tata Motors has also started working on making the 1.5 litre diesel engine compatible to BS VI emission norms.

The 1.5 litre diesel engine churns the power of 108 bhp at 3,750 rpm at 3,750 rpm and the torque of 260 Nm at 1,500 rpm. As far as the price of Tata Nexon Hybrid is concerned it is believed to be offered with the price-tag closed to the regular trims. Recently, the carmaker had launched the Kraz Edition of Nexon to celebrate one year of its successful existence in the Indian car market.
