Tata Nexon Electric Launch Confirmed By End Of This Year
According to industry reports addressing the recently concluded Annual General Meeting, Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Chairam, Tata Group assured the launch of four new electric vehicles soon in the Indian car market. Among these four vehicles the first three vehicles will be the electric versions from the existing portfolio of the domestic car maker including Nexon, Altroz, upgraded Tiago, while the name of fourth vehicle has been kept secret. All these vehicles would be launched in the duration of eighteen months, but the first one to debut will be the compact SUV Nexon Electric. The electric Nexon is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
Under the hood, the electric Nexon is believed to share the powertrain from electric Altroz that was showcased during the Geneva Motor Show held earlier this year. As far as technical features are concerned, nothing has been so far revealed by the company. But, still it is believed that as the Nexon EV would be based on the Altroz it will be able to cover the distance from 250 to 350 kilometers on a single charge. The prototype of electric Nexon was captured undergoing the test drive inside the production unit of the Tata Motors.

Visually the electric Nexon is expected to quite different from its standard version. On the basis of the spied images we can expect redesigned bumper and drag reduction wheels. After launch in the India car market it will go against the likes of electric Mahindra XUV300 which is also going to make its debut sometimes during the beginning of the next year.
Speaking about the price it is speculated to be offered with the price tag close of Rs. 10 lakh which would almost little bit expensive than its regular version. However, the decline in the GST and tax concession on the purchase of electric vehicles under the subsidy FAME-II scheme, there are chances that the price would be quite compatible.
