Tata Nexon: What We Know So Far?
Slated for launch of September 21, 2017, the Nexon, compact SUV from domestic car maker Tata Motors is one highly awaited and anticipated launch of this year. The curiosity of car enthusiasts towards this upcoming compact SUV is due to amazing success enjoyed by Tata Motors during the one year with subsequent launch of Tiago hatchback, Hexa SUV and Tigor compact sedan. It is believed that launch of Nexon will carry the flag of success enjoyed by the trio. The bookings of compact SUV have already been initiated by the car maker.
Under the hood Tata Nexon will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will be empowered with three cylinder 1.2 litre turbo engine configuration generating the power of 110 hp and torque of 170 Nm. The diesel variant will be energized with four cylinder 1.5 litre turbo engine that will be capable of boosting the power of 110 hp and torque of 260 Nm. The transmission duties in both the engines will be performed by six speed manual gear transmission system. It will be offered in four trims in both the variants. The trims will be named as XE, XM, XT and XZ+.
Based on the information leaked at different platforms all trims will be embellished with different features which are summarized as below:
Tata Nexon (XE): Taillamps with LED inserts, single tone wheel covers, fabric seats, glove box with cup, wallet and card holders, umbrella holder in front doors, dual front air bags, ABS+EBD, folding rear seat; multi drive modes, adjustable steering wheel and manual climate control.
Tata Nexon (XM): Harman ConnectNext sound system with four speakers that supports connectivity with USB, Aux-in, iPod and Bluetooth, rear parking sensors, steering mounted audio controls, power windows (both front and rear), remote central locking and USB fast charger.
Tata Nexon (XT): The XT variant will host all the features that are offered in both the above mentioned trims. Along with these features it will also be equipped with roof rails, automatic climate control, electronic folding mirrors, rear air conditioner vents, rear power outlet, and illuminated glove box.
Tata Nexon (XZ+): Continuing the features offered in three other variants the top end XZ+ trim will also be embellished with additional features like projector headlamps with DRLS, front centre armrest, rear centre armrest with cup holders, eight speaker Harman 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system, with android auto, voice commands, message readout and reply features, 16 inch alloy wheels, front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger, height adjustable seatbelts, smart key with push button and few more.
After launch in market Tata Nexon will compete against Maruti Suzuiki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and others. It is speculated to be offered with price tag between Rs. 7 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh.
