Tata Reveals The Details of Its Compact SUV Nexon
Flying high on seventh sky of success due to speculated success during the one year in form of Tiago, Hexa and Tigor domestic car maker Tata Motor is now all set to launch its new compact SUV Nexon sometimes during the next couple of months. Now ahead of its launch for first time the carmaker has released the image and few details of the compact SUV to develop curiosity among the car enthusiasts in Indian and International car market.
From the first images of Nexon teased in cyber world it looks like coupe and developed on car maker’s Impact design philosophy. According to reports received from authentic sources the Nexo will receive dual tone treatment on both the exterior and interior and outsources lots of interior features from Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan.
Under the hood it will be empowered with 1.2 litre (1198 cc) three cylinder Revotron turbocharged petrol engine that will boost the power of 108.5 bhp and torque of 170 Nm at 5,000 rpm and 2,000-4,000 rpm respectively. There will be diesel engine also that will be equipped with 1.5 litrre (1,496 cc) four cylinder Revotorq diesel engine that will be capable of churning the power of 108.5 bhp at 3,750 rpm and torque of 260 Nm at 1,500 – 2.700 rpm.
It will be offered in three driving modes namely, Eco, City and Sport and mated with TA6300 six speed manual gear box, as reported by the sources of car maker. In the words of Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors,"To introduce this all new SUV into the market, we are not leaving any stone unturned. We are once again introducing a product with an exciting package for our customers."
After launch in India the Nexon will compete with existing leaders like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and others. It is believed to be priced between Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 9 lakh.
