Tata Safari Storme coming soon

Tata Motors is soon to take the Indian SUV market by storm with the latest SUV Tata Safari Storme. The second largest car maker Tata is about to launch the Storme in the coming months. Notably, Tata unveiled the Storme SUV at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January and since then all auto enthusiasts have been muttering about the launch and ask – when is Storme coming. It is expected that the new Tata SUV will be launched just when it dust storms start in Rajasthan – in the month of May-June. The Storme will be having a duel with Mahindra Bolero and Mahindra XUV 500 in its segment. It is expected to be priced around Rs 10-14 lakh.

The Tata Safari Storme is being developed on the Tata Aria platform and thus it is more agile than the current version of Tata Safari. The Storme is the same SUV that the industry knew with its code name Tata Merlin. The Storme is expected to take over the position of Mahindra XUV 500 that has recently bagged 25k + booking applications in the second phase of bookings that opened in February.

On the other hand, the XUV 500 has its own advantages and both are unbeatable in the segment. Where Safari has the iconic look of an Indian SUV, the XUV has the knack of modern design and power. However the absence of four wheel drive in XUV will dent its sales against Storme SUV. A 2.2 L DiCOR engine with a power output of 140 bhp and 320 Nm of torque will make it all more attractive. Besides several new styling changes, the new Tata Safari avatar will have the spare wheel placed at the under the rear floor. A lot of details about the SUV is awaited and so are awaited the compact SUVs such as Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha that will, in all probability be giving a tough time to big sized SUVs in India.
