Tata Stuns its Fans by Discontinuing Safari Dicor From Its Flagship
Domestic car maker Tata Motors has discontinued its best selling SUV Safari Dicor from its flagship with immediate effect and also removed the details associated with the SUV from its official website. The car maker has however continued its modern version Safari Storme to continue the logo of Safari in Indian car market. The news regarding discontinuation of Safari Dicor by Tata Motors has also been confirmed by the dealers across the country. As far as existing stock of Safari Dicor is concerned it is reported that it will be sold by the dealers on discounted rate.

The first generation of Safari Dicor was introduced back in 1998 as Tata Safari, and with its inception the SUV emerged as one of the biggest hits in Indian car market by domestic car maker. In the beginning the Décor was empowered with 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that was capable of boosting the power of 86 bhp and mated with five speed synchromesh manual gearbox. After five years of its launch in 2003 the Dicor underwent its first facelift with subtle cosmetic changes, then again in 2005 it underwent the facelift and got upgraded with new 3. Litre Direct Injection Common Rail Engine (Dicor) and got the Dicor added behind its name. The new engine was capable of boosting the power of 115 bhp and torque of 300 Nm and transmission duty was performed by five speed manual gearbox. Then again after two years in 2007 the company introduced new Euro 4 compliant 2.2 litre Dicor turbo diesel engine which apart from being generating more power also delivered fuel efficient performance. This engine was capable of boosting the power of 140 bhp and torque of 320 Nm and mated with five speed manual gearbox.
It would be interested to know that it is not for the first time that Tata Motors has discontinued any of its bestselling vehicle suddenly from market. Earlier in 2016 the car maker similarly discontinued Aria crossover from its portfolio in the same way and also from its web page. However now the web page of Aria is being directed on the web page of Hexa SUV launched earlier this year.
