Tata to launch Hexa in the month of October 2016

It seems that after compact SUV segment crossover segment has emerged as the preferred segment by major car makers. After S-Cross crossover by country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited, domestic car maker Tata Motors is all set to launch its first crossover Hexa sometimes during the month of October in Indian car market. Despite of being developed on Aria platform, the Hexa crossover receives wide cosmetic changes on both exterior and interiors. It carries most of its cues similar to SUV in form of black cladding across the vehicle followed by eye catching angular shapes.

The power train will include 2.2 litre diesel engine boosting the power of 156.2 bhp and torque of 400Nm. It is the same engine configuration which is offered in Safari Storme Varicor. The crossover will be offered with four terrain modes which are similar to vehicles manufactured under the flagship of Land Rover. The transmission option will include both six speed manual and six speed automatic system. The top end variant will be offered with 235/55 R19 tyres, and 19 inch alloy wheels. The major features that will be offered in Hexa will include TCS, Engine Drag Control, Vehicle Dynamic Control and six airbags.

Inside the cabin it will sport features like dual tone dash board, with functions like Harman infotainment system, five inch touchscreen system and reverse camera. The instrument cluster receives completely new look with additional features like high resolution 3.5 inch TFT color screen, followed by ten speaker system from JBL developed specifically for Hexa. This however will be offered only in the top end variants of crossover.
It is reported to be offered with compatible price tag below the Innova Crysta from Toyota. On the basis of this report it is speculated to be offered with starting price beginning from Rs. 12.0 lakh (ex-showroom price) onwards.
