Tata to launch Hexa SUV in November, 2016

It is reported that homegrown carmaker Tata Motors is all geared up to launch Hexa SUV sometime around November this year in Indian car market and will commence media activities from October.

Showcased at 2016 Auto Expo, seven-seater SUV will be powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine developing the power of 154 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm. The engine will be equipped with a choice of either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission system featuring four driving modes namely Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

Developed on Tata Aria platform, Hexa SUV measures 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in width and 1,780mm of height and comes with ground clearance of 2,850mm. In terms of design SUV has taken inputs from Tata's British subsidiary Land Rover and features honeycomb grille with chrome "Humanity Line", new signature style of Tata vehicles. Apart from this Hexa will be adorned with various features such as daytime running LED lights, projector head-lamps, integrated spoiler and roof rails, with top end variant featuring  19-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin SUV features dual-tone dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel, Harman Kardon Infotainment system, reverse camera and leather-covered captain seats. In terms of safety Hexa is expected to get 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control and rain sensing wipers.  

Tata Hexa is expected to be priced between Rs. 13 Lakh and Rs. 18 Lakh, to compete against the likes of newly launched Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra XUV 500 and Ford Endeavour.
