Tata to Launch Nexon in the Middle of 2017
With hatchback Tiago performing good in Indian car market since its launch and compact sedan Zest scoring four stars in global NCAP, domestic car maker Tata Motors has already reason to fly on seventh sky despite of concerning the internal management disturbance. In its endeavors to strengthen its position in Indian car market, domestic car maker is now working on bringing its new vehicle in form of compact SUV to be named as Nexon. The compact SUV had been in lime light since its showcase during Indian Auto Expo 2016 and being witnessed going under test drives at several occasions. Now according to recent reports car maker is planning to launch Nexon during the second half of 2017 after launching Hexa and AMT version of Tiago during the early months of next year.

Developed on Tata X1 platform, the Nexo is reported to be empowered with 1.2 litre turbo-charged petrol engine and 1.5 litre diesel engine and expected to be priced in range varying between Rs. 6.5 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh. After launch in India Nexon will compete against Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV 300.

Earlier Tata was going to launch Nexon during the recently concluded festive season but going through the encouraging sales of Tiago, company decided to bet on it during the season. Another reason behind the postpone of Nixon according to recent reports is that home grown car maker intends to launch this compact SUV under specific marketing strategy, creating a buzz among car enthusiasts. It is also reported that with Nexo Tata will also launch its compact sedan christened as Kite 5 developed on Tiago’s platform.
