The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO in The Race of An Expensive Car
For those who desire to drive most expensive car, here is the chance for them to make their dream come true. It is reported Italian car maker Ferrari is going to auction the 1962 made Ferrari 250 GTO in International market with starting auction of $55 million. The 250 Ferrari GTO is capable of touching the top notch of 160 mph and developed between 1962 and 1964. According to reports only 39 models of the same were manufactured by the company.
The question which might wonder to every car enthusiast is that what is the reason which makes Ferrari 250 GTO the special sport car as compared to other cars manufactured by the car maker? Well, there is not a single reason to count this. To begin with, it does not have conventional red color for which Ferrari cars are known, this model of Ferrari has blue paint followed by racing stripes.
Another reason which makes it as the most expensive car for auction is its prideful history. The 250GTO was the first car from the car maker to compete in car race and succeed in achieving 17 podium finishes in 24 races in which is participated. Among 39 units of this car which were developed by Ferrari, the thirty six units were empowered with three-litre V12 engine whereas the other three were equipped with four cylinder engine.
