The Updated Tata Tiago NRG Ready For Launch On August 4, 2021

The launch of the Tiago hatchback by the domestic carmaker Tata Motors was a game-changer for the company. Inspired by its success, the carmaker launched its rugged version to make it look like a crossover. This version was christened as Tata Tiago NRG and sold from 2018 to 2020. The carmaker took off the NRG variant at the time it launched the facelift version of standard Tiago back in 2020.

Now the homegrown carmaker is going to launch the updated version of Tiago NRG in the Indian car market on August 4, 2021. According to reports, in the invitation sent to media and other guests, the company has used an interesting caption “ Witness the Launch of the #Tough and #Sporty avatar of something which is seriously fun”. It would be interesting to know that the company uses the term “seriously fun” to promote the Tiago.

Under the hood, the Tiago NRG will be offered with the same existing engine of a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns the power of 86 hp and the torque of 113Nm. It is believed to be offered with an option of both manual and AMT gearboxes.

As far as changes introduced in the new Tiago NRG are concerned, on the exterior front, it will receive a sharper front grille and headlamp design, outsourced from the facelift Tiago. It is also speculated to receive new bumpers on both front and rear fascias, followed by faux skid plates and faux cladding placed across the body. It will be offered with four colour options - Snow White, Fire Red, Cloudy Grey, and Forest Green.

Inside the cabin, it will receive a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Harman sound system, steering mounted audio control, power-folding wing mirrors, height-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, and a few more. On the safety front, it comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS, day-night rear-view mirror, parking sensors, etc.

It is believed to be priced at Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 higher than the standard XZ Plus trim.
