Well, speaking about the cost of running this solar car, Manoji said, that it costs him Rs 30 to run for 100 km. According to him, he drives his car in the streets of Bankura. The car doesn’t make any sound while driving due to the absence of the engine. It can touch the top-notch of 80 kmph. In the words of Manojit, he didn’t receive any support from the government. But he was determined to reach his objective and achieved it with his efforts.

He also added that this invention offered him relaxation from buying petrol, prices of which have hiked dynamically in recent years. The Nano hatchback was launched back in 2008 by the domestic car maker Tata Motors. The company had to discontinue the hatchback due to strict emission norms in 2018.  With a starting price of Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), Nano was the most affordable car in the Indian car market. It was a dream project of Sir Ratan Tata which could not succeed due to a lack of a proper marketing strategy.

With this solar-powered Nano, it is believed that further enhancements in technology will bring more cost-saving options for vehicle owners.
