Top-end Variant of Tata Kite 5 Caught Undisguised
Although, still there are four days left in arrival of the next year 2017, but car makers have already started giving shape to their strategy for the year. It is reported that domestic car maker Tata Motors has started testing its highly awaited compact sedan codenamed as Kite 5 on Indian roads, giving an indication of its launch sometimes during the month of February next year. It means that the beginning of 2017 will witness the launches of two highly awaited vehicles by home grown car maker in Indian car market. The first one would be a SUV to be christened as Hexa and expected to make its debut sometimes during the start of third week in January 2017.

The testing unit of Kite 5 spotted on the roads was completely un-camouflaged giving the clear indication about exterior of the compact sedan. The prototype of vehicle caught seems to be the top-end variant embellishing blacked out B-Pillar, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and chrome topped window line, thick chrome garnished bar at the centre of tail lights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. At the rear portion it sports reflecting strips followed by blacked out area. It is also reported to get single reversing lamp, mounted over the bumper. Along with this the exterior also receive the new paint scheme which is not found in any other vehicle manufactured by the car maker. As far as details of interior are concerned nothing could be noticed by the spies.

Mechanically, the compact sedan Kite 5 is speculated to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options of 1.2 litre three cylinder and 1.05 three cylinder engines respectively. The former will boost the power of 83 bhp and torque of 114Nm while the later will churn the power of 69 bhp and torque of 140Nm. The engine will be offered with driving modes namely Eco and City. After launch in India, the Kite 5 will compete against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo, Honda Amaze and Ford Figo Aspire.
