Toyota car prices to increase second time in 2012 by 1.5 per cent

Toyota car prices is to see the second increase in the year 2012, it will be up by 1.5 percent depending on the car model. The new prices will be effective from September 1, 2012. In June 2012, the company raised its diesel car prices by 1 per cent on account of the rupee depreciation. This time as well it is the same reason. Now it seems obvious that the upgraded Toyota Camry, to be launched on 24th August, will be priced a bit more. As a result of the price hike, Toyota cars like Toyota Etios, Toyota Etios Liva, Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Corolla Altis etc will be available at increased ex-showroom price.

Prior to Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Skoda India raised its car prices from August, 2012. The rupee depreciation has forced these two car manufacturers to hike their products and there will be no wonder if others join the line. The worst effect of the recent price hike will be seen on petrol cars as they are already disappeared from the buyer’s wish list due to the ever growing petrol prices.

Recently, Toyota has introduced a limited edition version of Liva that is called as Toyota Etios Liva TRD Sportivo at Rs 5.23 lakh. The Liva model range price starts from Rs 4.10 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.32 lakh. The car maker intends to sell only 1200 units of the limited edition LIva Sportivo car till October 2012.
