Toyota Etios Cross might be launched on May 7, 2014
Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors may launch the Etios Cross in Indian car market on May 7, 2014. The car was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2014 concluded in February and company had revealed that it will announce its launching date and price in the month of May this year. The Etios Cross is based on company’s hatchback Etios Liva, but carries more aggressive and dynamic looks compared to its elder sibling. Although it carries the same wheelbase dimensions as offered in Etios Liva but is has longer and broader physique than compared to it.

Etios Cross will be launched in both petrol and diesel disguises with petrol trim be offered with two engine options of 1.2 litre and 1.5 litre DOHC engine, while the diesel trim be offered with 1.4 litre D-4D diesel engine. Here it would be important to mention that variants equipped with 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre diesel engine will be allowed to enjoy the benefits offered under excise concession, but the petrol variant enriched with 1.5 litre will have to face some penalty due to industry rules which restricts the engine capacity of petrol vehicles above 1.2 litre.
The interiors of Etios Cross receives piano black color dashboard, high defined 2 DIN Music system supporting connectivity with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-In followed by all controls mounted on steering wheel. The car is already being sold in International markets with left hand drive option. According to sources this might be also one reason behind the delay of car as company might be looking for appropriate kit to convert the vehicle with right hand drive option. It would be interested to know that India would be first market to sale Etios Cross with right hand drive option.
