Toyota Fortuner 2016 Introduced with price tag of Rs. 25.92 lakh
Japanese car maker Toyota has launched the highly awaited upgraded version of Fortuner SUV in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 25.92 lakh and going high up-to Rs. 31.12 lakh both prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi. An interesting feature of new Fortuner 2016 is that going through the increasing concern towards pollution and implementation of green CESS on diesel vehicles in Delhi and NCR region, Toyota has launched the Fortuner next generation in petrol version along diesel variant.
The petrol variant of refreshed Toyota Fortuner adorns 2.7 litre inline 4 cylinder petrol engine with dual overhead camshaft (DOHC), Dual VVTi and 16 valave engine with displacement capacity of 2694cc boosting the power of 165 bhp and torque of 245Nm at 5200 and 4000 rpm respectively. The engine will be mated with five speed manual transmission system and six speed automatic transmission system with paddle shift. It is reported to deliver an average of12 kmpl and offered with two wheel driving option. On the other side the diesel trim empowers 2.8 litre inline 4 cylinder engine with displacement capacity of 2755 cc. This engine configuration generates the power of 174 bhp and torque of 420Nm. The transmission duty will carry same options as offered in petrol trim. The driving options will include both two wheel and four wheel drive options. It is endorsed to deliver an average of about 15 kmpl.
The changes introduced in Toyota Fortuner are candid and seems to carry the fleet of features offered in this SUV to next level. The new Fortuner is not only light in weight but also equips features like LED headlamps with projectors, electronic tailgate, ambient lighting system, climate control, electronic adjustable seat, new infotainment system with GPS and reverse parking camera. On the safety front it is equipped with seven airbags, ABS, traction control, brake assist and ESP system. These features are however, offered depending upon the trim purchased by buyer.
