Toyota Glanza: Landing On June 6, 2019, Launch Confirmed By Toyota
Japanese car maker Toyota Motors has finally confirmed that its upcoming hatchback christened as Glanza will make its official debut in the Indian car market on June 6, 2019. As reported earlier the Glanza carries most of its cues from Maruti Suzuki Baleno and therefore almost looks like its replica. Although there are some changes on the exterior front to make it look different from the Baleno, this includes slightly changed fog-lamps, apart from which there are not any notable changes to notice.
As reported earlier two of leading Japanese makers Suzuki and Toyota have signed a MoU of share hybrid and other vehicles with each other to strengthen their existing position in the Indian car market. According to the agreement the Suzuki will share the platform of Baleno hatchback and compact SUV Vitara Brezza with its Japanese partner Toyota for launching its new products in both these segments respectively.
In the words of Atsushi Oki, Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor,"Under the Toyota-Suzuki tie-up, each company will sell mutually supplied vehicles under their own respective brands and nameplates. Beyond that, at this point in time, we are not in a position to discuss further details such as vehicle specifications of our future product plans".
Both the Japanese auto giants had signed a memorandum back in 2017 and since both of them are finding the scope of exploring and sharing their respective technologies with each other in the areas like safety technology, environmental technology, information technology and supply required products and components with each other.
Commenting about the launch of Glanza the sources of Toyota Motors said that it will launch the Baleno version of its new vehicle in the second half of the next fiscal year. Moving ahead, he said that the proposed vehicle will be identical to Baleno hatchback with slight changes.
