Toyota Kirloskar Motors expanding in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited is thinking of investing Rs. 275 crore for expanding the capacity of its second plant in Banglore.

According to reliable sources, on the occasion of launch of Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in Kolkata on Wednesday, Vice President (Sales) Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported, The Company will be expanding the capacity of its second plant situated near Banglore.

Presently, the plant is having a capacity of producing 70,000 units and anticipated capacity after the expansion is around 1, 20,000 units. The expansion will be complete by the second quarter of 2012.

The capacity of company’s first plant near Banglore is of 90,000 units and is producing at its full capacity. The second plant manufactures Toyota Etios Liva hatchback and Toyota Etios sedan.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Ltd. expects to sell in the financial year 2011 around 60,000 Toyota Etios Liva hatchback and Toyota Etios sedan. Till now, the Company has sold 21,000 units of Toyota Etios cars and is planning to add 25 dealers to its existing network of dealers to achieve the sales target.
