Toyota Launches 2017 Camry Hybrid and Prius in Indian Car Market
Keeping the vision 2020 of making 20 percent of sales from hybrid vehicles in Indian car market in concern, Japanese car maker Toyota Motor Corporation has launched the 2017 edition of its luxurious sedan Camry Hybrid and fourth generation Prius in Indian car market with price tag of Rs. 31.98 lakh and Rs. 38.96 lakh respectively (both prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi).
Under the hood the 2017 Camry Hybrid sports 2.5 litre engine powered with an electronic motor generating the power of 205PS. The transmission duties are performed by variable transmission system that delivers an average of 19.16 kmpl. The cosmetic changes introduced in the Hybrid Sedan includes new set of LED fog and headlamps with DRLs, auto folding and reverse linked ORVMs with memory on the exterior front. Inside, the cabin it receives sound proof windshield glass, high density dash silencer, 12 speaker JBL audio system and foldable headrest for front seat passengers. The list of safety features includes nine SRS airbags with a knee bag, vehicle stability control and traction controlling system, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear seats with ISOFIX mounts followed by hill start assist control system. The buyers of new Camry Hybrid will be offered discount of Rs. 70,000 under FAME scheme.
Moving towards the Prius hybrid that was launched year in International market, had made its entry in Indian car market with its Z8 variant. Developed on new Toyota New Generation Architecture platform by the Japanese car maker, the Prius is empowered with 1.8 litre petrol engine that is capable of producing the power of 98 PS and torque of 142Nm. It is said to deliver an average of 26.27 kmpl.
Talking about the cosmetic updates offered on the exterior and interior front. On the exterior it receives LED headlamps and fog lamps with DRLs, smart entry system with push start system and 15 inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin it adorns 10 speaker supported JBL audio system that supports connectivity with DVD, AM/FM, CD3, MP3, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth. Additional features offered on the interior front are eco driving indicators, new leather seats, seat heater, head up display, dual auto AC and wireless charger.
