Toyota Launches Refreshed Etios Liva and Etios in India

With an objective to enhance the sales of its sedan Etios and hatchback Etios Liva, Japanese car maker Toyota has launched their refreshed versions in Indian car market christened as Platinum Etios and Liva Platinum. The price of siblings starts from Rs. 5.24 lakh and Rs. 6.43 lakh (ex-showroom prices) respectively. Continuing the same engine configurations both the vehicles undergo vast cosmetic updates making them compatible in the respective segments. However, this time company has offered ABS as standard feature in both the vehicles.

On exteriors the members of Etios family receive newly developed front fascia in form of sportier looks with large air dams on both the sides. The front grille is customized with V-shaped grille followed chrome accents whereas the fog lamps are mounted on air dams. The side profile is similar to existing versions of both the vehicles, whereas the rear portions have been updated with newly developed tail lamps, new bumper followed by chrome accents giving rear portion a fresh look. Besides these changes the exteriors also receive newly alloy wheels and electronic OVRMs. Inside the cabin you will find refreshed instrument console, new seat and covers, rear centre arm rest. Interestingly the worth mentioning feature introduced inside the cabin is integration of ABS system which is now offered as standard feature on all the trims of Etios siblings. The rear seats have been upgraded with ISOFIX mounting points which are helpful in enhancing child safety and protect the car from any kind of side hits.

Mechanically both the cars equipped with same engine configurations. The petrol variant of Toyota Etios is empowered with 1.5 litre petrol engine that churns the power of 90PS and torque of 132Nm, while the petrol variant of Etios Liva is energized with 1.2 litre engine boosting the power of 80PS and torque of 104Nm. As far as diesel variant of both these vehicles is concerned they share the same engine configuration of 1.4 litre engine generating the power of 68PS and torque of 170Nm. The transmission system is enriched with five speed manual gearbox system. With this to engine mountings have been now jerked on hydraulic rather than rubber so as to absorb the jerks effectively.
