Toyota Launches Yaris At The Starting Price of Rs. 8.75 lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian alliance of Japanese car maker Toyota Motors has launched its new sedan Yaris in the Indian car market with an impressive introductory price of Rs. 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom price) for its entry level trim followed by the price tag of Rs. 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom price) for the top end trim. With its launch the car maker also commenced the bookings of Yaris with the booking price of Rs. 50,000 and is reported to start the delivery during the month of May 2018. Considered as ‘Baby Corolla’ the Yaris will compete against existing leaders in the segment including Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.

Under the hood the Yaris is empowered with 1.5 litre petrol engine that is capable of boosting the power of 108 bhp and the torque of 140 Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by six speed manual gearbox followed by an option of 7 step CVT automatic gearbox. Interestingly the CVT transmission system is also offered with the option of paddle shifts in the top VX trim. According to sources of the company the manual transmission will deliver an average of 17.1 kmpl whereas the CVT transmission system will deliver an average of 17.8 kmpl.
Talking about the features offered in Yaris it carries most of its cues from its elder sibling Corolla Altis. The front fascia adorns big sweptback headlamps with projector lamps, LED DRLs and LED guide light, grille with glossy black slats along with round shaped fog lamps. The side profile receives muscular line with 15 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome garnished door handles, turn indicators mounted on ORVMs. On the rear fascia it sports rear foglamps and large LED tail lamps. The sedan is equipped with projector headlamps and keyless entry as standard feature.

On the interior front the sedan gets premium cabin integrated with contemporary features. Yaris is first in the segment to have roof mounted air conditioner vents with ambient lighting feature. The other features offered inside the cabin includes eight adjustable driver seat, glass high solar energy absorbing, flat floor for the rear segment, seven inch touchscreen infotainment system, and also multi-functional steering wheel.
