Toyota Motors announces hike in prices of its vehicles from September 21, 2013

Toyota Kirloskar, the Indian arm of Japanese auto maker Toyota Motors, has announced that it will increase the prices of its all products existing in Indian auto market up to Rs. 24,000 from September 21, 2013, so as to overcome the cost of production due to decline in value of rupee during last few months. According to company sources it will increase the prices of Toyotoa Etios, Toyota Etios Liva, Toyota Corolla Altis and Toyota Innova by 1.50 percent.
 
Sources of company reported that as an impact of this hike buyers of company’s MPV Toyota Innova will have to pay additional amount of Rs.7000 to 11,000 depending upon the variant purchased by them. At present price of different variants of Innova varies from Rs. 9.77 lakh to Rs. 14.42 lakh. The prices of other models namely Toyota Corolla Altis will be increased by Rs. 11,000 to Rs 24,000, similarly Toyota Etios will witness the hike of Rs.4,000 to Rs. 8,000. As far as prices of Toyota Etios Liva are concerned it is reported that its prices will be hiked Rs. 4,500 to Rs.8,600. Company sources revealed that hike in prices will be effective from September 21, 2013.
 
It should be remembered that as an impact of declining value of rupee during last few months, all major companies namely including BMW, Mercedes Benz, Ford, and General Motorsare finding it difficult to retain the cost of their production, as the result of which they are compelled to increase of their models.
