Toyota not in mood to launch new products
It seems that disappointed by decision of extending ban on diesel vehicles above 2000cc displacement capacity Japanese car Toyota Motors is not in mood to further introduce its new initiatives in Indian car market. According to reports Japanese car maker is reframing its operational activities in India by commenting about orders that they are issued “against principle of natural justice”. However, from this it should be taken as that Japanese car maker is going to stop its production activities in Indian car market that are operated through in collaboration with Kirloskar Motors, but it is true that it is not going to bring any new vehicle under existing circumstances in Indian car market.
Commenting on the situation Mr. Shekhar Viswanathan, Vice-Chairman and whole time Director, TKM said, "We have already started re-looking at our operations. What is hurting us is not so much the ban but the unfairness. Orders are passed without hearing us. It is going against the principles of natural justice. We feel our vehicles are being targeted”.
It should be remembered that Toyota Motors is one of the automobiles manufacturers which are affected by the ban of Supreme Court on registration of diesel and SUVs in Delhi and NCR region above 2,000 cc since December 2015. When it was asked from Mr. Viswanathan that will TKM close its operation in India he said, "There are about 25,000 people whose jobs are directly or indirectly linked to our operations. We are not going to abandon them."
