Toyota records 79 per cent growth
Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), the Indian subsidiary unit of automobile leader, Toyota Motors has achieved significant growth of 79% in February, this year. Last month, the company sold 16,659 units in comparison to 9,308 units sold in the same month in 2011. The Etios line up has been the main reason to attain the growth with 8027 units. In comparison to 2786 units of Toyota Etios sold in February 2011, the company sold 4590 units of this car in February 2012, thereby attaining growth of 65%. Furthermore, the Etios Liva sales in February, this year accounted for 3437 units.

The sales of News Innova and News Fortuner accounted for 6,271 units and 1,346 units individually. With the fabulous sales states, the New Innova recorded growth of 39% while, the New Fortuner registered growth of 36%. Moreover, the sales of Toyota Corolla Altis accounted for 996 units in last month. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director- Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar stated that the company has witnessed phenomenal sales growth for all its products in February this year. He added that the Etios line up has been the top selling for the company and also commented that sales response for New Innova and New Fortuner have been quite commendable. He further affirmed that the increase in production capacity and enhanced dealership network enabled them to reach more customers and boost up their sales.

In January, Toyota launched the revamped models of MUV Toyota Innova and SUV Toyota Fortuner at the Auto Expo 2012 Delhi. There is a buzz in the automobile industry that the company would unveil MUV Toyota Avanza by this festive season. This MPV is going to be a 7 seater that would carry stunning graphics. Avanza is expected to come powered by 1.5 liter petrol engine mated by a 5 speed manual transmission.
