Toyota to launch rival of Ecosport and Duster as well as new small cars in India
Toyota Motor Corporation, worlds' one of the largest automobile maker, has indicated about to enhance the market share in Indian auto market. The company is considering about to introduce more small cars along with a compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle). In order to have a bigger pie in Indian SUV car market the company could launch a compact SUV which will is reported to become a major rival of Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha.
Meanwhile, in order to have big volumes in fast growing small car segment, the Japanese auto giant is mulling about the launch of new small cars on the base of Etios series. At present, the company has only one small car, Toyota Etios Liva which is doing well. Beside this, a compact sedan would also be launched under the range of Toyota Etios sedan. All the upcoming new car models by Toyota are reported to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
Along with new compact SUV and small cars, Toyota could also launch more hybrid cars. At present, Toyota Prius is the only hybrid model in India by the auto giant. It is deciding on setting up of a new diesel engine manufacturing plant in the country by near future. Overall, the Japanese car maker has very aggressive plans to enhance market share in Indian auto market.
