Vehicles of Ford and Fiat Exhibit Low Performance in NCAP Test
Despite of pricing their vehicles at the prices that are beyond reach of layman, car makers do not seem to be serious towards the integration of safety features in their vehicles. This was recently witnessed during the New Car Assessment Program Test (NCAP) where vehicles from renowned car makers like Ford and Fiat failed to perform according to the claims made by their manufacturers. And, the most surprising factor of this test was that it was conducted on the vehicles which are considered as well equipped with safety features and claimed to be the best vehicles offered by the car makers.

The poor performing vehicles from both Ford and Fiat were none other than Ford Ka+ and Fiat 500. According to test reports revealed by the NCAP sources Ford’s new Ka+ small car scored on three stars in the test, on the other side Fiat 500 which has undergone a facelift in recent times, also scored the same three stars like Ford Ka+. It would be interested to know that it is within the span of month when any of the vehicles for Ford has performed poor in NCAP test, as just a month the highly acclaimed Mustang scored only two stars rating in the test.

The reports also reveal that NCAP test for both these cars will compel the car makers to cut down the prices of their vehicles in the market where they are struggling for developing their base due to their cost. It is also reported that autonomous braking technology was also missing in both these cars. During the test where Ka+ failed to offer chest protection to all the passengers, Fiat 500 failed to achieve the results exhibited by the former.
Interestingly, on other side the generation next Audi Q5 and Toyota C=HR succeed in scoring five start rating in the same test and received the certificate of “Good All-Round Performance” in all areas of assessment.
