Vento becomes the 5,00,000th car to come from Volkswagen’s Russia plant

The manufacturing plant of Volkswagen in Russia has rolled out its 5,00,000th car and the honor of being the 5,00,000th car was given to Volkswagen Vento. Vento in Russia is known by the name of Polo sedan. The Volkswagen Polo Highline variant that was rolled out was dipped on the official 2014 Olympics and Paralympics colors. These games will take place in Sochi, Russia in 2014. This variant of VW Polo will be donated to Leader, which is an NGO that focuses on social adoption and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Therefore, the company is playing its part for social cause.

Apart from manufacturing VW Polo sedan, the company’s plant situated in Kaluga also produces Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Fabia. The production of this plant began about three years ago and more than half of Volkswagen cars available in the Russian market are manufactured locally.

Furthermore, the company is gearing up to expand its Russian portfolio and bring in the European Skoda Rapid in the country. The firm is planning to manufacture this one in Russia, which will chop down the price to a large extent. Also, Volkswagen is planning to establish a powertrain manufacturing plant in Kaluga that will start the production in 2015.

Coming back to Volkswagen Vento, the car is not an international model, but is sold in few countries, which comprise of South Africa, India, Russia, Middle East and Malaysia. This sedan has many high points, which make it VW’s one of the most popular models. The exteriors of the car are quite stunning, while the interiors are premium and lavish. However, cost wise the car is a bit expensive, but its lavish appeal and features make the car worth every penny spent on it.
