Volkswagen and Mahindra also announces hike in prices from January 1, 2014
Buying a personal car will become expensive from next year with all major cars announcing hike in prices of their product line up. Following the same trend one more prestigious car manufacturing company Volkswagen has also announced to hike the prices of its products up to 2.5 percent from January 1, 2014.

Speaking on decision of hike in prices Mr. Arvind Saxena Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said that company has been facing the problem of retaining its cost of production from last few months and therefore to overcome this problem had taken this step. Mr. Saxena also added that keeping the expectations of customers in concern from Volkswagen vehicles, company has decided to make minimum hike in prices of its product range. The major range of products sold by Volkswagen in India is Polo, Vento, Jetta, Passat, Touareg and Phaeton.

It would be interested to know that apart from German car maker, one more car making company Mahindra has also announced the increase the prices of its flagship vehicles up to 2 percent from January 2014.Prior to this other major companies which have announced to hike prices of their products line up are Tata Motors, MSIL, Hyundai, Honda, Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW and Renault which yesterday announced to hike the prices of its vehicles in Indian car market.
