Volkswagen Cross Polo could be launched in India by August
At present the market of compact SUV cars is on high peaks. Youth generation of the country is taking interest in compact SUV cars buying and each carmaker of country seeks to launch its compact SUV. Many of auto major like Mahindra, Renault, Ford, Premier etc. have offered their innovative compact SUVs to Indian customers. And now, Volkswagen India is also going to dive into this fastest emerging segment with launch of Volkswagen Cross Polo compact sports utility vehicle.
Volkswagen Cross Polo is a compact SUV version of the global small car Polo. But, it has larger wheelbase, larger space and fatter tyres as well as roof rails, larger bumpers and some of extra features. Basically, the Cross Polo appears more like Skoda Fabia Scout. The compact is reported to launch the Cross Polo compact SUV in Indian domestic market in the month of August this year. The new beast by German carmaker would be made available in petrol and diesel options along with a large choice of variants.
All the variants of the Cross Polo India would be offered between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Its petrol model will be powered by a 1.2-litre 105PS TSI engine that was offered with the Polo GT. Power of the engine will go to wheels via a five speed manual or the seven speed DSG box. Due to competitive price range and advanced features, it will become a major rival of Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra Quanto and Maruti Ertiga.
