Volkswagen CrossPolo to rival Ford Ecosport
Right now, the craze for compact SUV cars buying in India is on high peak as the youth generation is taking tremendous interest in this segment. Many of popular carmakers of India have offered their compact SUVs and some of are ready to dive into this segment. Very soon, Ford India will also be joining this race with launch of global SUV Ford Ecosport. On the other hand, German carmaker Volkswagen is also ready to throw its compact SUV Volkswagen CrossPolo.

The CrossPolo is a mini SUV styled hatchback or big version of the Volkswagen Polo which will target both hatchback and compact SUV segments. It will be made available in both petrol and diesel engine models along with manual and automatic transmissions. The new CrossPolo will also to eat the market share of Renault Duster and upcoming Maruti XA Alpha along with Ecosport. All the variants of the vehicle are expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh in domestic market.
On the other hand, Ecosport compact SUV price is also expected to fall between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 11 lakh in India. It will also be offered in both petrol and diesel models along with three engine options like 1.0L EcoBoost petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel. Meanwhile, the CrossPolo could get the 1.6L petrol and 1.6L diesel engine from Vento sedan. Overall the German compact SUV will be a major rival of the American compact SUV on various bases.
