Volkswagen Readying to Launch Taigun In India
The compact SUV Taigun is one of the highly awaited vehicles in the Indian car market. Although the exterior and interior images have surfaced online on several occasions, the vehicle is yet to debut in India. Now according to recent reports the German carmaker plans to launch the SUV in India during the festive season of Diwali this year. Recently the spies succeeded in capturing the fresh images of the Taigun directly from its stable. Although these pictures were captured in the Philippines where the SUV is sold as T-Cross. According to these images the Taigun is expected to be launched with different colour options.

In the new images the Taigun is seen in four colours Chinchilla Grey, Tribu Yellow, Romance Red, and Syringa. From the images the Chinchilla Grey is the base variant as it doesn’t have the accessories like LED headlamps, sunroof, and fog lamps. It is equipped with a different styled grille and chrome slats mounted on it.
The Philippines version of Taigun will be available with a 1.5-litre MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine boosting the power of 113 PS and the torque of 145Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Indian version is believed to be offered with two engine options of 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine.
As far as the looks of Taigun are concerned it has a muscular design which makes it look like a complete SUV. It is decorated with LED twin-pod projector headlamps, grille with horizontal chrome plates, and halogen fog lamps. The side profile receives the plastic cladding. It also has roof rails, turn indicators mounted on the ORVMs, and a shark-fin antenna.
On the rear portion it receives a light bar extended throughout its rear width, and LED tail lamps. It also receives a plastic bumper and a faux skid plate. Inside the cabin it is reported to be equipped with lots of amazing features.
