Volkswagen showcases NILS – single seat electric car
Volkswagen Group seems to be one car maker besides others that is highly committed to India. In order to strengthen the ties between India and Germany, the car maker is providing over Volkswagen cars to ferry the delegates. Notably it is not the case that the car maker is celebrating the Indo –German event because it is between its parent nation and its present market but it has been active all through. The car maker has launched special edition of Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Polo during the IPL 5 season and these limited edition cars have been more than a success. Also, the car maker has given some of the best luxury cars in India and it is this car maker that has once beaten the Honda City sedan sales with that of the Volkswagen Vento sales.

At the present event, the car maker is providing shuttle services for the delegates. Besides VW cars, Skoda, Audi and Porsche cars and buses will also be used for the purpose. In all over 60 such German brand cars have been assigned the shuttle duty. The event will also mark the showcase of two concepts – Microcity which is an intelligent traffic system concept and NILS which is a concept car. These two concepts are a mark of innovation and thereby ensure the future of mobility and will set new standards of low emission and managing traffic efficiently. These two concepts are also mark alternate fuel technology and are avatars from the “Think Blue Factory”. The NILS is a single seat electric car.

In India VW Group has registered its presence quite well with some of the most popular offerings including VW Polo and Vento. The car maker is in competition with Japanese car maker Toyota, Maruti India and American car maker Chevrolet. All these three car makers are literally at a duel and where Maruti is an established player, VW is fast strengthening its grip over India.
