Volkswagen Taigun expected to be showcased at the earliest

It is reported that German car maker Volkswagen is speculating to showcase its highly anticipated and awaited SUV Taigun in Indian car market prior to arrival of festive season. With this upcoming SUV the car maker intends to strengthen its position in SUV segment of Indian car market which at present is dominated  by EcoSport from Ford, Terrano from Nissan, and Duster from Renault.
 
The SUV would be launched in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is expected to be offered with 1.0 litre 3 cylinder TSI petrol engine generating the power of 110 PS and torque of 175 Nm. On the other side the diesel variant is anticipated to sport 1.4 litre 3 cylinder engine. The petrol variant is speculated to deliver an impressive average of 21 kmpl while the diesel variant might deliver an average of 24 kmpl. The SUV is capable of accelerating the top speed of 185 kmph.
 
The SUV was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2014. The front fascia is aggressive and is blessed with tough side panels, roof rails and bottom protector. The infotainment system mounted in the SUV is endorsed to be compatible with all types of smartphones.
