Volkswagen Teases A Video Of Taigun 2021 Ahead Of Its Launch
The German luxurious carmaker Volkswagen is all set to launch the Taigun SUV in the Indian car market sometimes during the next year. Recently, before its launch, the carmaker has teased a short video exhibiting the actual and interior details of the SUV, confirming its launch in 2021. Based on the MQB A0 IN platform it is the first SUV developed by the company for the Indian car market under its India 2.0 project. The same platform is also used by the Czech carmaker Skoda for developing a mid-sized SUV slated for launch in India during the early months of next year, under Vision IN project.

Under the hood, it will be powered with a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine boosting the power of 148 bhp and the torque of 250Nm. The engine is developed on the cylinder deactivation technology. The transmission duties will be performed by with an option of a seven-speed manual and seven-speed DSG gearbox system. According to the sources, the company has endorsed it as an SUV that will be compatible with both the Indian environmental conditions and the expectations of the buyers in India. Once launched in India, it will go against the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
On the exterior front, the Taigun looks like the Volkswagen T-Cross being sold in the International car market. The front fascia of Taigun receives an aggressive look in form of chrome garnished two-slated grille, square-shaped headlamps, and an angular bumper with chrome work done on it. The major attractions of the exterior front are seventeen-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights connected with an LED light bar, and a quarter glass with graphics.

On the interior front, nothing has been so far exhibited in the teaser. However, it is believed that will be similar to the one showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2020 held earlier this year. It is believed to come with a layered dashboard with an eight-inch infotainment system. The multi-functional steering wheel and automatic climate control will be other major interior attractions.
