Volkswagen to remove Volkswagen Vento 1.6 AT from its fleet
It is rumored that German car maker Volkswagen is soon going to discontinue AT variant of its highly appreciated sedan Vento from Indian car market. The automatic Vento AT will be replaced by recently launched Volkswagen Vento TSI. The new Vento TSI is enriched with 1.2 litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine followed by seven speed clutch automatic transmission. The on-going Vento AT is empowered with 1.6 litre petrol engine.
According to reports the main objective of replacing Vento AT from Indian car market is to explore the market of recently launched Vento TSI blessed with 1.2 litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine developing the same power of 103.6 bhp as generated by 1.6 petrol engine integrated in Vento AT. Apart from this the another reason of taking of Vento AT from market is absence of service back and few features that are available in others cars available in same segment.
As it is known that Volkswagen has launched Vento in both petrol and diesel variants with five engine options including three in petrol variant namely Trendline, Highline, and Highline Petrol Automatic whereas diesel variant was available with two engine options i.e., Trendline and Highline. The petrol model of Highline is blessed with six speed automatic transmission system. With removing automatic version from petrol variant means that now petrol version will be available only in two trims Trendline and Highline.
