Volkswagen Vento and Polo: The major sales pullers in India for VW

Union Budget 2012-13 declaration and consistently increasing fuel prices have taken away the smiles of both the car buyers and automobile sellers. Despite the tough phase continuing for the automobile units, Volkswagen India was able to sell 5613 units in April 2012. It was the Volkswagen Polo and the Volkswagen Vento that contributed more than 5300 unit sales for Volkswagen India in the month of April 2012.

Volkswagen Passengers Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India, Member of Board & Director, Neeraj Garg stated that despite of the tough automobile industry phase, Volkswagen has not only been able to maintain itself, but it also showed positive signs of 38.48 % growth in the fiscal year 2011-12 compared to the fiscal year 2010-2011.

Volkswagen, one of the well established German automobile brands sells its wide product range from the Fox to the Phaeton in more than 150 nations across the globe. In the Indian sub-continent, Volkswagen sells its seven best in class products i.e. the Volkswagen Polo (hatchback), the Volkswagen Vento (mid-size sedan), the Volkswagen Jetta (sedan), the Volkswagen Passat (premium sedan), the New Volkswagen Beetle (premium hatchback), the Volkswagen Touareg (premium crossover) and the Volkswagen Phaeton (premium sedan).

In next two years, the auto-giant, Volkswagen is eyeing to launch some more fresh products for the Indian enthusiasts which include; Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Up and Volkswagen Tiguan. Volkswagen has got its facility in Chakan, Maharastra which is spread in 2.3 million square meters and has got workforce of more than 3500 employees. This facility can produce around 117,000 units in a year.
